Japan plans to launch flying taxi routes connecting four key Osaka destinations—Shin-Osaka/Umeda, Morinomiya, Tennoji/Abeno, and Osaka Bay Area—by 2028. Integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles with existing subways, buses, and taxis, the initiative aims to revolutionize urban transport. Developed by SkyDrive and Osaka Metro, the project includes vertiports and advanced certifications, with gradual expansion through 2030.
